Sudan military, civilian rulers trade blame for economy

KHARTOUM: Sudan’s economic woes, which fueled the overthrow of veteran strongman Omar Al-Bashir last year, are driving a wedge between military and civilians members of the transitional government that replaced him.
Inflation hit 143 percent last month, as the worldwide economic slump sparked by the coronavirus further aggravated Sudan’s chronic hard currency shortage.
